The Bureau de la vie étudiante invites you to an outdoor day and a wildlife concert at the Forêt Montmorency – the teaching and research forest of Université Laval. Since 1964, the university is the guardian of this boreal forest of 412 km2. In addition to its academic side, the Forêt Montmorency offers various outdoor activities all year long. Its high altitude fosters the presence of northern species such as the Canada lynx, the woodland caribou, the wolf and the moose.

The activity will start by a short trekking to explore the trails and discover the lakes, rivers and sightseeing spots of the Forêt Montmorency.  A hike allows you to walk on the Lac Piché trails (about 1 hour and a half of trekking, 3 km round-trip) and benefit of different views of the landscape.

At 6 p.m. we will pause for supper. You can eat inside the main building or on the shores of the Lac Piché, where you can enjoy a bonfire and a picnic.

Finally, at 7:30 p.m., the wildlife concert experience will start with a short introduction in the auditorium, followed by a bus ride to Lac Bédard where the concert will take place. There, in the quietness of the boreal forest, the musicians, awaiting us on canoes, will interpret an acoustic concert in complete symbiosis with the sounds of the boreal wildlife. This concert features prominently wolves, moose, loons and much more.
